We’ve seen a recent rise in the popularity of foams for hair coloring at home, including those from brands such as Clairol John Frieda and L’Oreal. What is the difference between liquids and creams, and foams?
Some women have difficulty applying hair color at home. They would like to be more confident in doing so correctly and evenly. In fact, 85% of American women would like a simple hair color routine with an enjoyable application experience. Foam hair dye is excellent because it is easy to use and doesn’t drip, making less mess. Foam is neither liquid nor gas nor solid but has the best of all three. When squeezed through the cap, the liquid hair color turns into a lightweight foam.
What is the science behind Foam?
The formula can be mixed with just three shakes and still have the liquid product in the bottle. The Foam is created by screwing the pink foamer cap on the bottle and squeezing it. You can turn your hand upside-down and still have the Foam stay in place, even if you only put a golf ball’s worth of product into it. The bubbles in the foam collapse into liquid as soon as it hits your hair. This allows the color molecules to penetrate the hair shaft quickly. When foam hair color is resting, it behaves as a solid. This prevents messes from forming. As soon as you start moving the Foam in your hair, it becomes a liquid and is easier to spread. The color is then absorbed quickly and evenly by the hair. Does hair color foam work for people who have allergies or sensitive skin?
