Dos and Don’ts of Hair in Winter

Will the hair packs above be enough to get you through the winter? It would help if you did more than use hair packs to keep your hair healthy during the winter.

Dos

  • Trim your hair regularly at intervals of about one and a half months. Trimming helps remove dry and unhealthy hair, which can lead to split ends. It will make your hair more manageable, and you will have less to struggle with.
  • Use warm water to wash your hair instead of hot.
  • Deep Conditioning is essential during the winter. Deep Conditioning not only softens your hair but also adds moisture to it. Go outside and get a conditioner for your hair.
  • Cover your hair with a silk hat or scarf to prevent damage from the wind. Your hair will be just as static as before.
  • Use oil to moisturize your hair and keep it flake-free.
  • Water is essential for hair and scalp. Avoid unhealthy foods, as they can affect your hair and scalp.

Don’ts

  • Avoid washing your head every day. Winter’s harsh cold air causes hair and scalp to lose moisture. Washing your hair frequently will remove the water that remains.
  • Avoid going out with wet hair. While it is not something we would all want to do, you should ensure your hair is dehydrated before leaving the house. The cold air makes wet hair frizzy.
  • While a hot water bath can relax in the winter, washing your hair will make a mess. Avoid hot water as it can damage your hair.
  • Use hair straighteners and curlers instead of hair treatments. These tools can make hair rough and dry, which is worse during the winter.
  • Refrain from brushing or combing your hair too much. If you want to comb your hair, hold it with one hand and then use the comb. You will be able to avoid hair loss by doing this. Apply Serum to get a smooth comb.
